While shops near Westminster Abbey in London are peddling tacky nail decals bearing an image of the royal couple, you can celebrate Kate Middleton and Prince William walking the plank your own way with OPI’s latest polish collection, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides nail lacquers. The polish, which will hit Opi.com in early May, comes in six shades to celebrate the film. The colors include “Planks A Lot, Sparrow Me The Drama, Skull & Glossbones, Mermaid’s Tears and Stranger Tides.” The sixth shade is Silver Shatter, which is applied over any of the other polishes to create a crackled finish.
Nail Depot in Boca Raton is a local salon already offering the “crackle polish” trend with hues OPI released with Katy Perry and Serena Williams several months ago. But I think Charlie Sheen should be OPI’s next shatter polish spokesperson. His line could be called “Two and a Half Manicures” and feature shades such as Tiger Blood Orange, Bi-winning Blue, Passion Pink, Radical Relapse Red and Built By Trolls Green. Hey, he’s already got poetry in his fingertips.
