The 14th floor of the Epic Hotel in Miami was bustling Oct. 15 with Jenny McCarthy fans. The bubby MTV personality, Playboy Playmate, autism activist and author was in town promoting her latest work, Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies, And True Romance. And this was definitely one book signing I didn’t have to drag my boyfriend to. He couldn’t have been happier to see the former star of “Singled Out.”The book is a hilarious account of McCarthy’s personal dating experiences and the examination of relationships in general. From STDs to masturbation to dating an unattractive guy with a pencil penis, McCarthy looks for love in all the wrong places until she discovers the real love of her life lies within. McCarthy, like many women, was guilty of “faking” who she really was during the beginning of her relationships. And we’ve all done that–pretending to like a band or a certain football team we know the guy likes. McCarthy has become a sort of dating super hero to me now–a Carrie Bradshaw with less designer shoes and more balls. Her book goes where many women haven’t had the guts to publicly go. I’m looking forward to pouring myself a bucket of merlot and devouring this book this week. On a side note, McCarthy, who dated actor Jim Carey for five years, does have a new boyfriend now.
