On any given Saturday night, South Beach is a fashion mecca for the senses. However, on Halloween, every fashionista in the magic city steps it up a notch. The DiLido Beach Club was packed with goulishly dressed gals and boo-tiful guys Oct. 31st. While I went as a vampire as a tribute to my favorite show “True Blood,” I was highly impressed with the creativity of the many homemade costumes this year (as a result of the recession). Guests sipped liquid nitrogen mojitos and dined on Chef Jeff McInnis’s chick pea falafel and spiced garlic fries.
Two men wrapped themselves in plastic wrap and went as tampons and another man donned wrapping paper and went as “God’s gift to women.” While more conventional costumes such as fairies, cheerleaders and cowgirls roamed around the party, the highlights of the night included a guy dressed up as Alan from The Hangover, a striking Blonde who went as ’80s cartoon Jem and a clever fellow who was Lafayette, the cook on “True Blood.”
Please check out these photos from the Full Moon party.
