Backstreets Back Alright and this time with plenty of costume changes

DSC05998On May 29th, the Backstreet Boys rocked American Airlines Arena with an array of costume changes from suits to hoodies to blinged out jackets to ’40s-inspired suspenders and fedoras to marching band jackets to futuristic garb. A couple thousand women turned out for the concert along with a few men randomly sprinkled throughout the crowd.

Singing hit singles such as “As Long As You Love Me,”I Want It That Way” and “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” the men of Backstreet Boys stayed on pitch and in synch with each other as they showed off their line dancing moves which made many women (including myself) scream in the ’90s. They also performed some of their more recent material for the This Is Us Tour, but the fans clearly wanted to hear Backstreet’s old school hits.

Between songs, a huge movie screen set up on the stage aired movie parodies of Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, A.J. McLean and Howie Dorough starring in The Fast And The Furious, The Matrix, Fight Club and Enchanted. Before breaking into their ballad “Shape Of My Heart,” the Backstreet Boys treated the crowd to a few bars of Spandau Ballet’s “True.” My favorite Backstreet look is the classic jeans and hoodie outfits, but what do you think of it?
